Millennium chronograph Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional – Classic version, circa 2008.

The essential Omega Speedmaster Professional watch—the legendary Moonwatch chronograph from the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions—in its classic version. This model is no longer available in Omega’s official retailer network. The new Speedmaster model that replaced it in 2021 is reference 105.012, equipped with the co-axial calibre 3861.

Collector’s watch in stainless steel with a screw-down case back, 42 mm in diameter, water-resistant to 5 ATM, with special engravings on the back. Manual-winding mechanical movement, Omega calibre 1861 Rhodium type B5, small seconds chronograph with Stop and Go function. Black Luminova Moonwatch dial type C6, central large seconds hand (Flat second), and baton hour and minute hands in Type C3 Luminova. Fixed tachymeter bezel type B5-dot Beneath 70-Style 1 framing the Hesalite glass (Plexiglas, Category A). The three totalizer subdials for hours, minutes, and seconds are arranged for easy time reading.

The Speedmaster chronograph is a multifunctional watch—used in aviation, motorsports, and beloved for its robust, vintage-chic look. This has earned it appearances on movie sets and in many hit TV shows. In recent years, the value of the Speedmaster on the pre-owned luxury market has significantly appreciated after remaining relatively stable from 2010 to 2017. Now seen as a timepiece whose value growth rivals that of Rolex’s professional models, this highly sought-after classic version is, from a collector’s perspective, a pleasure investment that will undoubtedly prove to be a wise one in the years to come...
