SpecificitiesEdition full-set pour cette édition Speedmaster moonwatch.

The iconic Omega model: the classic Speedmaster Moonwatch, complete with its original box and papers, circa 2005. This tri-compax mechanical chronograph from Omega features the black "Professional Moonwatch" dial topped by a tachymeter bezel. It houses the Omega 1861 calibre, the final evolution of the 18-jewel movement based on the Lemania 1873 with small seconds. This collector's watch was used by NASA crews during the space race and shuttle era, accompanying them on their extravehicular spacewalks. The movement beats at a rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour, powered by a flat Glucydur hairspring, moving the central seconds hand at six beats per second. For accurate time setting, this movement includes a "stop-second" feature activated by turning the crown counter-clockwise—an extremely useful function for synchronising the watch with a reference time signal, master clock, or onboard instrument by halting the movement completely.
The cam-actuated chronograph operates in "Stop & Go" mode, meaning the chronograph starts by pressing the top pusher at 2 o'clock, can be stopped with the lower pusher, resumed with the top pusher, and reset with the bottom one when stopped. The tri-compax subdials allow total time measurement up to twelve hours, fifty-nine minutes, and fifty-nine seconds, with a running seconds subdial on the left, a 30-minute counter on the right, and a 12-hour counter at the bottom. This movement starts functioning from the very first turn of the winding crown and reaches a power reserve of 42 hours after about twenty full turns.
This timeless watch has seen no fewer than 250 different versions since its creation in 1957. It is also one of the most collected watches in the world, with auction prices having doubled over the past ten years. As a fun fact, the Speedmaster chronograph is the only watch to have passed all of NASA’s qualification tests without any mechanical failures or component malfunctions. It was therefore approved with the mention “Flight Qualified by NASA for all Manned Space Missions,” a marking engraved on the screw-down caseback. It accompanied astronauts Virgil "Gus" Grissom and John Young aboard Gemini 3 on March 23, 1965, as the official chronograph. It also served as the official chronograph for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021.
With proven reliability and improved shock and water resistance, this watch is worn by many enthusiasts of motorsports and extreme sports during their activities. Its classic lines, especially when paired with a leather strap, give it an elegant, dressed-up appearance.
