Omega Speedmaster hand-wound chronograph from 2006 with cam-actuated command. A soon-to-be vintage collector’s watch, this model remains one of the great classics among watch enthusiasts. A timepiece with a history rich in records and achievements, the Speedmaster has been by the side of those who shaped the 21st century: pilots, astronauts, but also artists, acclaimed actors and actresses, and even presidents and royalty—so strong is the symbolism of this chronograph, evoking determination, self-mastery, and human accomplishment.
This watch is a favorite among enthusiasts and savvy collectors alike, given its success at auctions and its sharp increase in value in recent years. This 2006 edition comes with its original box, and its serial numbers confirm its production year as 2006. The chronograph features a Stop & Run mechanism with three counters, including a small seconds subdial. It is powered by the Omega C-1861 calibre movement (18 jewels), operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and offering a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound.
This movement is manufactured by Omega based on the Lémania 1873 calibre. The reference 3570.50.00 was introduced in 1996 and remained in production until July 2014. This model also served as a base for many limited editions by Omega, each carrying a distinct reference.
One of the first Speedmaster chronographs to feature a sapphire crystal instead of the traditional Hesalite (plexiglass).
If there were only one Moonwatch to choose, this would be the one. It left a lasting mark on NASA’s Apollo lunar missions and received numerous awards—including the prestigious Snoopy Award. You can learn more about its legacy in the Watch Stories section of the Mostra Mag, or explore the brand's full legacy in the brand history section here.
This watch is also available in-store at our Mostra Store boutique in Aix-en-Provence.
