Omega Seamaster 300 GMT regatta watch from 2002, stainless steel case, 41 mm diameter, water resistant to 3 ATM, equipped with the Omega 1128 chronometer-certified movement. The date window is set without a cyclops magnifier, and the rotating bezel displays a second time zone via a red central GMT hand.
Notably, the white dial on this model helps reduce eye strain when reading the time while sailing under direct sunlight or during transitional lighting conditions such as dawn or dusk. Since visual acuity is key for both safety and performance, Omega developed the “White Wave” dial to offer optimal legibility in low-light environments. In the same spirit, the anti-reflective sapphire crystal without a date magnifier helps eliminate the risk of dazzling solar reflections.

The Seamaster has been Omega’s water-resistant watch line since 1947, starting with the Seamaster DeVille, the first in the series to offer water resistance. Following post-war enthusiasm for aquatic sports, Omega reworked the case design in the 1950s to allow underwater use, with water resistance ranging from 10 to 30 ATM depending on the model. By the late 1960s, the collection expanded further into professional deep-sea diving with the Seamaster Professional Diver 600 Ploprof, famously worn by Jacques-Yves Cousteau and the COMEX divers.

The model presented here is a nautical sports watch with large arrow hands of military style, water-resistant up to 300 meters, and capable of displaying multiple time zones. This makes it ideal for long-distance navigation and showing local time across multiple time zones. As a regatta skipper’s watch, it retains a casual-chic elegance that pairs well with formal attire or a navy blazer. Its functions, reliability, and toughness make it Omega’s answer to the professional-grade alternative offered by Rolex with the white-dial Explorer II—its direct competitor, yet with a more accessible price point. This "Press Edition" model is delivered with two dials: the original white one and a specific America's Cup dial.

The use of a white dial and 24-hour time display via the rotating bezel is particularly suited for prolonged low-light conditions. Shock-resistant and waterproof, this watch supports activities such as underground exploration and a wide range of aquatic or sport-related adventures—day or night. Its solid, compact construction makes it ideal for sailing, canyoning, or spelunking.

This particular watch was offered to a journalist during a press event at the America's Cup in Valencia (Spain). The dial of the watch bears the competition’s colors: a black background with Super-LumiNova markers and “America’s Cup” printed at 6 o’clock. The black dial features a pattern of small engraved waves.
