Diving watch Rolex Submariner 16610 Full Set, F-series from 2004, equipped with the Rolex caliber 3135 movement—widely regarded as one of the best modern automatic movements ever developed by Rolex and the watchmaking industry in general. A 40 mm Rolex model, now equally worn by both men and women. This Submariner 16610, starting with serial number F, was produced by Rolex until 2010, before being replaced by the Submariner 116610LN. During this long production period, the year 2003 saw the release of the anniversary edition reference 16610LV, nicknamed "Kermit" by collectors due to its distinctive green bezel.
The Submariner holds a prominent place in the Rolex lineup—an iconic model and the most sought-after dive watch in the world. It accompanied the early James Bond films (worn by Sean Connery and Roger Moore) with reference 6536, and was also a favorite of Steve McQueen, who wore it on the set of *Le Mans*, alternating with the Heuer Monaco for filming purposes. A trusted companion for many divers, its robustness and reliability have made it a gateway into the world of Rolex for many collectors.
The Rolex 16610 houses the automatic Rolex 3135 movement, a 31-jewel caliber known for its shock resistance. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, this high-performance movement has been the foundation for numerous modern Rolex calibers. It features a quickset date, stop-seconds function for precise time synchronization, and is chronometer-certified. Its architecture—centered around a balance wheel with Microstella screws and a Breguet overcoil—makes it remarkably easy to regulate and maintain. The balance bridge is also height-adjustable via two regulating screws, allowing for precise fine-tuning.
The case and bracelet are made of 904L stainless steel, with a 40 mm diameter that fits discreetly under a shirt cuff. The dial features Superluminova hands and hour markers (with “Swiss Made” printed at the bottom), following Rolex’s shift away from tritium in the late 1990s. This watch is sold full set with its original Rolex box and papers. It is also available to view in our Mostra Store boutique in Aix-en-Provence, located at 3 Place Forbin, Cours Mirabeau.
