Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 Big Valve Circa 2005 MS0419039
Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 Vintage Big Valve Circa 2005 Full-Set, a collector’s diving watch in exceptional condition, produced in 2005 (serial number D XXX XXX) with a black dial and Tritium-lumed indexes. This iconic timepiece made waves in the 2000s, most notably featured in Barry Levinson’s film *Sphere* with Sharon Stone (details can be found by following this link).
Diving watch for deep-sea exploration, with automatic movement, large date window without cyclops lens, 60-minute graduated rotating bezel with unidirectional locking mechanism, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, automatic Rolex calibre 3135, chronometer-certified with a 48-hour power reserve. The Rolex calibre 3135 is a 31-jewel, bidirectional self-winding movement, with Breguet overcoil and a Glucydur balance wheel, engineered to operate without fail under extreme temperatures.
A KIF shock absorption system ensures protection for the movement, which operates at a high frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The power reserve is 48 hours, and the watch features a quickset function for adjusting the date.
Equipped with a central seconds hand and a hacking function, it allows precise synchronization to a reference time. The 120 ATM waterproof case is made of hypoallergenic 904L steel and measures 40mm in diameter. The Sea-Dweller 16600 is fitted with a larger Helium Escape Valve compared to its predecessor, hence the nickname “Big Valve.” This patented device is placed on the left side of the case. The screw-down crown and caseback are engraved with Rolex markings (crown emblem on the crown and circular inscriptions on the caseback). The Oyster bracelet ends with a folding clasp. The watch comes with all adjustable links and can be fitted to wrists of all sizes. Additionally, the clasp features an extension system that allows for easy adjustment over a diving suit without tools.
