Specificities28,800 vibrations per hour, 48-hour power reserve, 30 ATM water resistance
Used Rolex sea-dweller 4000 professional diver's watch from 2003, type big-valve sapphire reference 16600 series YXXX XXX with its papers and original box in near new condition. A vintage collector's watch forty millimetres in diameter with a shape that will suit both small and large wrists.
A slightly thicker model but with a case that ideally matches the curve of the wrist, the Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 seems less voluminous on the wrist than its cousin, the Rolex Submariner 1680. It is gaining more and more lovers of Rolex diving watches' attention given its incredible rarity on the market and because it has a date window without the usual cyclops magnifying glass, which distracts the eye when you check your watch. Today also worn by women due to the narrow width between the lugs compared to the Rolex Submariner models.
Watch from the professional Rolex range. This self-winding watch is powered by a COSC-certified chronometer-certified Rolex movement, calibre 3185 with 31 jewels. It is less sensitive to magnetic influences and temperature variations than the conventional oyster perpetual range. This watch, whose operating life amounts to twenty-eight thousand eight hundred vibrations per hour, has a power reserve after complete winding (which can be done bi-directionally) of fifty hours.
The waterproof watch is equipped with a sizeable Oyster-type bracelet with all its removable and adjustable links. The folding clasp that ends the bracelet is equipped with a safety clasp, and the buckle is also adaptable to fit the wrist's circumference perfectly. The dial with a black background and white inscriptions is enhanced with superluminova indexes and continues to emit a green glow after exposure to light, allowing easy reading of the time in the dark or at night. The bottom of the dial mentions 'swiss made', which indicates the use of superluminova to magnify its hands and indexes. The hands are of the Mercedes type for the hour hand, the baton for the minutes, and the Lollipop type for the central second hand.
In terms of usage, this watch, queen of water sports and very comfortable in the city, had its heyday during the beginning of the 2000s in the film 'Sphere' at Sharon Stone's wrist. Adapted to all types of wrists, its sober and classic appearance is reinforced by the unusual character of its helium valve on the left side of the dial. Much more accomplished than the submariner model and developed with quality in mind, La Comex has made it a mythical watch, and its name has been circulating for a long time in the world of diving watch enthusiasts, of which it is one of the icons. From a collection point of view, this watch, which is much less produced than the Rolex Submariner, is found ten times less on the second-hand market compared to its Rolex cousin, and its rating is constantly increasing. It is, therefore, a watch which represents a great interest and has an extremely important flywheel of appreciation in the medium and long term.
