Omega Speedmaster Professional Gemini 5. A limited edition vintage watch from 1998, produced in only 150 pieces, sold with its original box. Screw-down case back, 42 mm in diameter, in excellent condition with engraved case back markings. Manual-winding mechanical movement, small seconds chronograph with Stop and Go function. Large central seconds hand, fixed tachymeter bezel surrounding Hesalite (Plexiglas) crystal.
This commemorative Speedmaster chronograph celebrates the iconic NASA Gemini 5 Mission, which featured astronauts Gordo Cooper and Charles Conrad (who also wore a Glycine Airman I during the flight). This extremely limited-edition model belongs to the Moonwatch NASA Special Editions released by Omega in 1998 to honor its close connection to space exploration. Given the very small number of pieces produced and its production year, its exceptional preservation significantly enhances its value for collectors.
Collector’s stainless steel watch with a 42 mm screw-down case back, water-resistant to 5 ATM with engraved case markings. Manual-winding mechanical movement with 18 jewels, Omega calibre 1861 Rhodium type B5, based on the Lemania 1873 ébauche, with a 27 mm diameter. It beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a 48-hour power reserve when fully wound. It features a Stop & Go chronograph function. The time-setting mechanism is of the "small seconds" type, allowing the second hand to be stopped when adjusting the time—ideal for syncing to a reference clock or onboard timekeeper. The timeless luminescent Moonwatch dial features the official NASA Gemini 5 mission logo, printed on the subdial at 9 o'clock.
The watch features a central seconds hand (Flat second), and the hour and minute hands follow the collection’s aesthetic codes (Type C3 Baton Luminova). The fixed tachymeter bezel (Type B5-dot Beneath 70-Style 1) surrounds the A-grade Hesalite crystal. The three totalizer subdials for hours, minutes, and seconds are arranged for optimal legibility .
