Omega Speedmaster Professional 45th Anniversary Edition – NASA Apollo 17 Mission. A limited edition released in 2017, with only 1,972 pieces produced, offered here as a full set with its stunning collector’s box and original papers. The 42 mm screw-down caseback is engraved in relief with the official mission badge of the final manned lunar expedition. This rare timepiece features a racing-style minute track on a deep blue dial, with the left subdial uniquely adorned with NASA’s official logo to distinguish this mission. A true pilot’s watch, powered by a manual-winding mechanical chronograph movement, it features a small seconds counter and a “Stop and Go” chronograph function. The red-accented “flat second” central hand stands out beautifully against the dial. The distinctive navy blue tachymeter bezel is highlighted with gold, framing the anti-reflective Hésalite Type A crystal.
This commemorative Speedmaster chronograph honors the 45th anniversary of NASA’s final crewed moon mission, Apollo XVII, launched from Kennedy Space Center on December 7, 1972. Aboard were three astronauts: Ronald Evans, who remained in lunar orbit; Harrison H. Schmitt, a geologist and lunar module pilot; and Eugene Cernan, the mission commander. This limited-edition timepiece marks the successful conclusion of NASA’s manned lunar program and belongs to the Moonwatch Special Edition Anniversary NASA Collection, initiated by Omega in 2006 to celebrate key milestones in space exploration. Given the limited production and the exceptional quality of the full set, this watch holds significant appeal for serious collectors.
Collector’s watch in stainless steel with a 42 mm screw-down and individually numbered caseback, water resistant to 5 ATM, featuring relief engravings. Manual-winding mechanical movement: Omega calibre 1863 Rhodium, small seconds chronograph with Stop and Go function. Unique midnight blue dial with red GMT landing time inscription. Central chronograph second hand and hour/minute hands are C3 Baton Luminova. The fixed tachymeter bezel encircles a Plexiglas crystal. The three subdials (hours, minutes, seconds) are ideally placed for optimal time reading during chronograph use. The stainless steel bracelet is adjustable and adaptable to all wrist sizes via removable links.
