Omega Speedmaster 39 mm automatic chronograph, reference 175.0083, from 2001 — a vintage collector’s watch with contemporary lines, suitable for men or women. This self-winding chronograph (powered by wrist movement) reflects the evolution of Omega’s iconic Speedmaster line. Back in 1987, Omega introduced its first 40 mm automatic Speedmaster under reference ST 376.0822, equipped with the Omega 1045 calibre. Produced for only two years, this rare model became a true grail for collectors. Ten years later, Omega celebrated the anniversary by releasing a new automatic Speedmaster, showcasing technical upgrades from the 1990s.

This 39 mm chronograph houses the Omega calibre 1152 — a 25-jewel shock-resistant movement based on the Valjoux/ETA 7750. Reliable and robust, it offers a 46-hour power reserve after full winding and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The watch is crafted in stainless steel, features a satin black dial with a date window and three sub-dials, and comes with its original bracelet, adjustable by adding or removing links.

It is also fitted with an original folding clasp that includes an integrated extension system, allowing you to enlarge the wristband temporarily over clothing — without using tools. A clever and practical feature.

In terms of functionality, this classic chronograph proudly upholds its sporting heritage. Originally designed for motorsports, this Speedmaster — a direct descendant of that lineage — is now more oriented toward timekeeping while maintaining an elegant, dress-watch appeal. Its refined finish makes it suitable for formal events, yet it also blends seamlessly with a casual wardrobe thanks to its versatile design.
