Initially specializing in wall clocks, the company experienced explosive growth: by 1903, it had become the largest watchmaking factory in the world, with over 3,000 employees. In 1927, Junghans began producing wristwatches and quickly gained recognition in both civilian and military sectors. A major turning point came in the 1950s through a collaboration with Swiss designer Max Bill, a Bauhaus alumnus. Junghans also stands out for its technical innovations. In 1972, the brand was chosen as the official timekeeper of the Munich Olympic Games. In the 1990s, it launched the world's first radio-controlled wristwatch—the MEGA 1—a technological feat developed in partnership with Frog Design. In 1995, Junghans broke new ground again with a ceramic solar-powered watch, combining environmental consciousness with precision and comfort.
