Royal Navy Automatic - 1980 Military Diver

Military dive watch by CWC (Cabot Watch Company) for the Royal Navy — an automatic timepiece issued in a limited series of 600 units, built to the Royal Navy specifications from the 1980s. Water-resistant to 300 meters, it features a dial typical of British Royal Navy military watches of that era. This type of watch was used by Royal Marines and SBS combat divers during the Falklands War.

It features a unidirectional rotating bezel with luminous markings. The black dial includes luminous indexes enhanced with Super-LumiNova, ensuring optimal legibility in dark waters or nighttime conditions. The hands are of the Royal Navy military type, also filled with Super-LumiNova. The screw-down crown is protected by sturdy shoulders on both sides of the case. The 41 mm polished steel case is fitted with fixed bars for secure strap attachment.

The movement is a Swiss-made ETA 2824 version 2 calibre, customized for CWC with specific engravings on the base plate. This robust and easily serviceable movement is well-suited for the demands of military use. It also powers several other famous military watches, such as the Bianchi French Army combat diver model from the 1990s, and the Marathon SAR used by Canadian Search & Rescue divers.
