British Military Diver Watch CWC RN-30-N Transitional – Preowned 1999
Since the mid-1990s, CWC has manufactured and supplied the Royal Navy with the RN-30 model. This is the standard issue dive watch for the British Royal Navy. It features a high-quality Swiss SW200-1 movement known for its exceptional accuracy. The stainless steel case is brushed on the lugs and polished on the sides, measuring 41 mm in diameter including the crown (40 mm without), with a lug-to-lug length of 47 mm, a 20 mm lug width to fit NATO straps, a 40 mm bezel diameter, and a sapphire crystal. The watch weighs 78 g without the strap.
This diver’s watch is water-resistant up to 30 atmospheres (300 meters) and is equipped with a 120-click unidirectional bezel, a screw-down crown, and a screw-down caseback. It is powered by the ETA 2872 automatic movement with bidirectional winding, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a 38-hour power reserve. Noteworthy detail: the date disc in this movement is hidden behind a solid dial, as per military specifications, resulting in a no-date display with a "ghost date" (date mechanism present but not visible).
A distinguishing feature of this transitional model (from tritium to Super-Luminova use) lies in the luminous markers and indexes made of Luminova, complying with British Ministry of Defence and NATO specifications. That’s why these early models lack the circled “T” for tritium or the circled “L” later used for Super-Luminova. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and is entirely Swiss-made from Swiss components. It comes with a custom 20 mm green NATO military strap made for CWC and features fixed bars for optimal strap retention. This model blends classic military design with modern materials, meeting the operational standards of professional military divers, in line with Royal Navy usage.
