Tudor Submariner 76100 Vintage Tritium Watch Circa 1984 Mercedes Hands Dial. A diver's watch model produced at a time when Tudor watch cases were still signed Rolex. The case is in steel, the back and crown are screwed down, the movement is self-winding, reference ETA 2824/2, with date display.
This 21-jewel movement, whose production began in 1972, is based on the Eterna calibers 1427 and 1439. Its autonomy after complete winding is thirty-eight hours, its alternation speed 28,800 bph. It has an etachron regulator, an incabloc-novodiac anti-shock device and it has a bi-directional rotor. Movement extremely popular with many luxury watch brands (iwc, breitling, hamilton, omega...)
The notched rotating bezel is black in color and has a sixty-minute scale, the first quarter of an hour of which is marked every minute. The matte black dial is enhanced with round and triangular Tritium indexes and is adorned with the Tudor shield. The hour and minute hands are Mercedes-shaped with a seconds hand in the central position.
This wristwatch produced in a small number of copies is considered a transitional model between the Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner 79090 models produced between 1989 and 1994 and the Tudor Prince Date Submariner 79190 released in 1995. Diving watch produced exclusively in the automatic version with date, such as reference 79190 (While the equivalent Rolex range (Rolex Submariner 16610 Tritium) will continue to offer the model without a date), this 39 mm diameter Submariner takes its name from its characteristically shaped hands like of the lollipop model from the same period with a solid hour hand.
