Omega Constellation Manhattan Ref. 1562.31.00, Steel 22.5 mm, Quartz cal. 1456, Silver dial, Original warranty card & Mostra travel pouch
Under the spotlights of the runways or in the light of a romantic evening, the Constellation signs a look—clean, precise, unforgettable.
Wearing an icon every day means preferring the imprint to the shine. The young woman who chooses a Constellation Manhattan is not looking for the trivial effect: she wants a clean, discreet presence, a signature that accompanies the day without highlighting it. At the office as at dinner, the watch slips under the sleeve and reappears in the light with the restraint of a well-chosen detail. The precision of quartz adds a kind of chic freedom: no ritual to plan, no hesitation before going out: the watch is always accurate, always ready. The steel bracelet with folding clasp ensures the safety of a single gesture, the fluidity of an impeccable drape and the purity of a line that never breaks the silhouette. You slip it on, it is forgotten; you look at it, it recalls exacting standards. The Manhattan, with its claws and integrated bracelet, speaks the language of measured modernity: graphic, current, perfectly proportioned. It sends a clear message: mastery, taste, quiet confidence to those who know how to look. Neither showy nor ostentatious, it signs a contemporary and cultivated style: that of a woman who moves forward, chooses with discernment and lets her watch say the essential, without ever raising its voice. The 2000s made watchmaking slide from the runway to history, from the shoot to the everyday. In a backstage, the Constellation clings to the wrist like a dressmaker’s pin; under a trench, it replaces jewelry: thin, legible, sure of itself. One changes light, not look. The silver dial catches a reflection, the bezel with Roman numerals sets the day’s pace; in the evening, the same watch slips under a tuxedo sleeve. It is the accessory of editorials and appointments, the one you keep when trends pass.
Born in 1952, Constellation is the chapter of precision at Omega, recognizable by its observatory medallion and eight stars. The aesthetic turning point came in 1982 with the Manhattan: four claws at 3 and 9 o’clock, integrated bracelet, sharpened profile—a design that became a signature. The so-called “Constellation ’95 / My Choice” generation extended this language into the 1990s–2000s; the present 1562.31.00 belongs to this family, produced around 1998–2005 depending on the variants. The 22.5 mm steel case (approx. 22.5 × 28.2 mm, thickness ~7.5 mm) is topped by a bezel with Roman numerals and polished claws. The crystal is sapphire; water resistance is given as 3 ATM / 30 m for versions of this generation. The pared-back silver dial, without date, carries two hands over the Omega quartz caliber 1456, a precise and reliable two-hand movement. The integrated steel bracelet, with brushed links and polished bars, ensures a natural fall on the wrist and reinforces the Manhattan line.
An urban watch par excellence: small enough to disappear under a fine sleeve, designed enough to sign a silhouette. Quartz facilitates alternating wear: you pick it up, it is on time, while its visual identity (claws, Roman numerals, integrated bracelet) remains immediately legible, from an appointment to a dinner. 2000s example of the 1562-31 family, delivered with its original warranty card and a Mostra travel pouch.
