Rolex Explorer 1 watch, in an early version of the 14270 model, the Rolex explorer movement calibre 3000 variant T-swiss frozen dial. A self-winding collector's watch, chronometer-certified for its timekeeping precision. This emblematic and famous model of the professional Rolex range replaced the reference explorer 1016 at the end of the eighties with initially the interior of the trilogy of numbers 3 6 9 painted in black, then quickly afterwards with an interior enriched with tritium, as on the model explorer 14270 T-Swiss Frozen presented here.
The particularity of the Rolex explorer 14270 Frozen dial model is that it is equipped with a dial which naturally, over time, will see the bottom of the originally black lacquered dial become matte black. Its luminescent surfaces are enriched with tritium, as indicated by the mention T SWISS - T<25 inscribed at the bottom of the dial. Over time, Tritium surfaces, like the Luminova or Superluminova models, will take on a light tan colour and gradually acquire a patina.
